Travis Kelce plays football for the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL.
The Chiefs picked him during the 2013 NFL Draft in the third round. He also helped the team win Super Bowl LIV and Super Bowl LVII, where he caught touchdowns in both games. Before that, he played football in college at Cincinnati.
Early life and career

Travis Kelce was born in Westlake, Ohio, on October 5, 1989. He went to Cleveland Heights High School in his hometown, where he did really well in three sports: football, basketball, and baseball. Later, he played college football at the University of Cincinnati. His parents are Ed and Donna, and he has a younger brother named Jason Kelce, who also plays in the NFL as a center for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Kelce got chosen by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2013 NFL Draft. He was the 63rd pick overall and was picked in the third round. In that same draft, there were players like DeAndre Hopkins, Lane Johnson, and Le’Veon Bell. However, the 2013 NFL Draft class is thought to be not as impressive as some others in recent years, and Kelce is one of the few standout players from that draft.
Kelce became a part of the Chiefs after agreeing to a four-year rookie contract. However, he couldn’t play in his first year as a rookie due to knee surgery, and he only managed to participate in one game. In his second season with the Chiefs, he played in a total of 16 games and began 11 of them. He ended that season as the Chiefs’ top receiver, catching a total of 67 passes for 862 yards. At the beginning of the 2015 season, he had his first game in the NFL where he scored multiple touchdowns against the Houston Texans, making 2 touchdowns and receiving 6 passes for 106 yards. He played in all 16 regular-season games and went as far as the Divisional Round of the playoffs. In 2015, he earned his first Pro-Bowl selection.
In 2016, Kelce signed a $46 million, five-year contract extension. He helped the Chiefs reach the playoffs but lost to the Steelers. In 2017, he had a career-high 8 receiving touchdowns in the regular season, but the Chiefs lost in the playoffs to the Titans, with Kelce getting a concussion and leaving the game. In 2018, the Chiefs reached the Super Bowl, and Kelce had 6 receptions for 43 yards, a touchdown, and 2 rushing yards.
Kelce reached two consecutive Super Bowls, narrowly losing to Tom Brady’s Buccaneers in the second one. He set a Super Bowl record with 133 receiving yards. In 2021, he became the longest-tenured player on the Chiefs and the fastest tight end in NFL history to reach 8000 career yards. He earned his 7th consecutive Pro-Bowl nod but missed a third Super Bowl appearance after losing in the AFC Championship to the Bengals. In his third Super Bowl, the Chiefs beat the Eagles 38-35, defeating his brother Jason Kelce’s team.
